OCLC Community Center

We send bill notifications to our students/patrons when they accrue $1 worth of bills on their accounts.  This starts the bill notification chain and typically resides with a basic "You have some bills on your account" that then sends a reminder to pay any bills to avoid blocks.   We would like to have it trigger additional (stronger responses) when bills accrue at higher amounts; however that is currently not possible.  We can either set the accrual event higher, and only target the egregious offenders, or target the masses with a more generalized bill. It would be great to be able to send secondary, tertiary or more emails to patrons when they hit higher levels of bills.  We take stronger actions when our students/patrons surpass a  certain bill threshold ($200 in this case) and would want to have the system notify them with a stronger stance on these bills and the ramifications of having reached these thresholds. I know there's some logic that would have to be worked out for this to be functional.  If a user, for example, has a $200 bill off the bat then theoretically any "amount accrued" events from $1-$200 could be sent (multiple redundant emails). Another would be handling notification sent after a set period from the initial event.  Should these send with the "amount accrued" triggers or should any additional "amount accrued" event supersede it and simply reset the next time period reminder to send after the last "amount accrued" event? It is possible to subscribe to receive email updates from the OCLC Status page (https://oclc.service-now.com/status). We've become aware that not all updates on the Status page is emailed to customers who have registered to receive email updates - we have seen occasions when there have been outages that have updates posted on the Status page but an email is not sent. OCLC says this is by design We would like to see the option for customers to be able to register to receive all updates that are posted to the Status page that relate to products the customer has signed up to receive updates for. Can a new material type be added for visual materials - 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray? There is currently no option for this specific format, and 4K discs cannot be played on a standard Blu-ray player, so we are hesitant to catalog them as regular Blu-Rays.   That the sort when first going to the ideas page be New Ideas as the default. When I go to look at a new idea that came in a email I have to scroll down sometimes to find it.  I also think this list should include "My Ideas" So I can view just my ideas easier.   ... View more

It would be really great if the page navigation were also at the top of the webpage (in addition to just at the bottom as it currently is) and if you could jump to a specific page.  The screen shot I'm including shows that there are 21 pages, but I can't get to, say, page 10 directly.  I have to click Next, scroll down to the bottom, click Next, scroll down to the bottom, etc.  If this works differently in other browsers, I'd like to know; I'm currently using Microsoft Edge.     ... Currently, the default sort for Ideas in each community is "Hot Ideas." While I appreciate that option, I most often want to review "New Ideas." I would like to suggest that users of the Community Center have the ability to add a preferred email in their Community Center profile instead of relying on the default email address taken from their WMS library account. I am a student and staff of our university and our Banner load process automatically prefers my student email address over my staff email address, which is what we want to happen. However, I don't want my Community Center email notifications going to my student email address. Hello, When browsing a specific Product Community, the default search scope is to search "All Communities" rather than the Community that the user has selected. Since the user has already made the choice to browse a specific Community, it follows that the search box would be scoped to query that Community by default. When a new post goes out from the Community Center it includes the following (OCLC Community Center Subscription Update) after the subject of the discussion post. It would be helpful if instead, this was the name of the product or specific area of the Community center that the post was sent from. So, for example, this post would arrive with the subject: Add Community Name to Email Subject Header (OCLC Community Center) The primary value add this provides would be that it allows users to filter messages from the Community Center in their email box. In the old Community Center, there was a way to see only my enhancement requests (ideas) in a list. I used this regularly to see current status and ask for support from other libraries. I haven't found a way to do this in the new Community Center. If there is a way, please share. If this isn't currently possible, please add the option. ... View more

Description of Enhancement When I submit a suggestion/enhancement, I'd like to be informed via email on a daily or weekly basis if people have voted/commented on my suggestion. I would also like to be emailed if OCLC responds in any way (adds asterisk, changes status).  Issues Enhancement Will Resolve I don't have the time to regularly review My Suggestions. Description of Enhancement We would like the possibility to subscribe to an RSS feed or email notifications the same way as we can do for discussion topics on the community discussion forum: "Subscribe to this discussion forum to get new posts and replies delivered to your email inbox.   You may subscribe at the forum (all topics posted to the discussion board) or an individual topic level." Description of Enhancement As a team leader, I want to be able to see all of the enhancements suggestions submitted or rated by individuals associated with my institution so that: We can give subject matter experts responsibility for submiting suggestions and ratings/reviews, but still get a complete picture of what is being requested and why. We can compare release notes against enhancements suggestions and ratings/reviews made by our institution to inform configuration decisions. Staff turnover does not impact processes and corporate knowledge. This would provide similar functionality to Zendesk where I can see: My requests Requests I'm CC'd on Organization requests Issues Enhancement Will Resolve Currently I can only see my individual suggestions and ratings. Description of Enhancement Provide a way for people to subscribe to receive notifications by email when the 'Known Issues' list of a product changes, i.e. when new issues are added to the Current Issues section and when issues are moved to the Fixed Issues section. Issues Enhancement Will Resolve As a WMS manager I would be better informed of issues.Currently I have to wait until a patron or colleague notifies me of an issue and then check the Known Issues list to see if it is already listed.
