Join us for a comprehensive webinar on cybersecurity in public libraries, where we delved into the evolving threats targeting public libraries and shared best practices to enhance security measures. Our community presenters and OCLC’s security experts provided insights, real-world experiences, and practical solutions to help safeguard your library against cyber threats.
During the webinar, Brian Lee, Director of Technology at Pierce County Library, shared his experience in obtaining cybersecurity grants and leading rapid investments to secure networks and data. Followed by Sarah Meilleur, CEO, and Jim Chisholm, Chief Technology Officer, at Calgary Public Library. They discussed their recent experience with a cybersecurity threat, including the nature of the threat, their response, lessons learned from the experience, and recommendations for other public libraries.
OCLC’s security team discussed common security threats faced by public libraries and offered best practices to protect against them. Lastly, the EZproxy product team explained how hosted EZproxy can serve as a secure remote access solution for libraries.
