Status changed to Future Consideration by

Thank you for submitting this enhancement suggestion. Although we are not currently able to offer an institution-level view of ideas, we will continue to consider how this could be implemented in the future. In the meantime, the new OCLC Community Center offers some improved options for viewing ideas submitted by your peers.  It is now possible to:

  • Navigate to the profile of fellow community members to see posts that they have contributed to the site.  On each community member’s profile, you’ll be able to view both discussion and idea posts and replies.
  • Limit search results by post author and type of post.  For example, you can limit your search results to content posted by a known colleague and also limit to only Idea posts.

Please continue to rank for priority and add comments about any specific needs or workflows that we should consider.  We appreciate your feedback!

Description of Enhancement

As a team leader, I want to be able to see all of the enhancements suggestions submitted or rated by individuals associated with my institution so that:

  • We can give subject matter experts responsibility for submiting suggestions and ratings/reviews, but still get a complete picture of what is being requested and why.
  • We can compare release notes against enhancements suggestions and ratings/reviews made by our institution to inform configuration decisions.
  • Staff turnover does not impact processes and corporate knowledge.

This would provide similar functionality to Zendesk where I can see:

  • My requests
  • Requests I'm CC'd on
  • Organization requests

Issues Enhancement Will Resolve

Currently I can only see my individual suggestions and ratings. This makes it difficult to prioritse and manage enhancement suggestions across the institution.

Current Workaround

Our work around involves tracking enhancement suggestions in an Excel spreadsheet before submitting them to the Community Center.

Yes! This would be helpful as I was just now looking to make sure no one at my institution had already put in the enhancement request we were discussing. Did some keyword searching but being able to see whatelse our folks have put in would be useful.

Yes! I am often unaware when a colleague submits or comments on an enhancement, unless they tell me about it.

This would be helpful.  Good idea!  I appreciate the Zendesk functionality and could see something similar being useful for enhancement requests and supporting comments.

Yes, this would be really useful to have this view. A one-stop place to get an overview of enhancement requests for my institution and to reduce duplication

Totally agree!

This would improve the coordination and cohesion of an institution's needs.
