Allow the user to select a default sort for Ideas

Currently, the default sort for Ideas in each community is "Hot Ideas." While I appreciate that option, I most often want to review "New Ideas."

I would like to be able to choose "New Ideas" as my default sort. This option would be selected and applied as part of "My Settings," and would allow each user to determine their default sort.

Thank you for submitting this idea. It is not currently possible for us to change the default sort for our community ideas pages, but the OCLC community team will consider this suggestion for future development. This suggestion and the comments appended to it will help to inform that development. Please continue to rank for priority. We appreciate your feedback!

Thank you for your feedback.   At present, we do not have plans to allow users to set their own default sort preference. However, with the October 2024 Community Center release, we have updated the default sort order to sort ideas with the newest first.  We believe that many users will be pleased with the update to use the “New ideas” sort by default. After navigating to the page, you can still adjust the sort order to view ideas using either the “Trending Ideas” or “Top Ideas” sort order.
