Hope everyone had a lovely Labor Day weekend!

One of my favorite things about curating the content for this platform is when a new theme or video type begins to take hold with our users and find its audience, and I’m glad to say that I logged on today to see exactly that. Last month I mentioned that I would be introducing a full shelf of study and relaxation music videos and I’m glad to report that several of these videos have already cracked our top 25 in views.

 Which is very fast!

That strengthens my impression that patrons find CloudLibrary Video useful not only as a venue for some of their favorite shows and films, but as an overall video resource across many use cases.

I will continue to seek out more of these unique use cases and test out new content types, and it’s my hope that I’ll continue to be pleasantly surprised.

Our theme shelves for September will include the following highlighted titles:

 Hispanic Heritage Month:

Bolivia's entry for the Oscars in 2021, this celebrated surreal drama follows a young man and his companions as they arrive in La Paz, Bolivia to seek work at the mine. The young man's health starts to deteriorate, and a woman brings him to a mysterious witch doctor to cure him.

Suicide Prevention Month:

Jon_McConnellOCLC_1-1756774617755.jpgTell My Story

A powerful, emotional documentary - after his son dies by suicide, a father seeks answers for what is killing today's youth. In March 2018, Jason Reid’s world changed forever when his son Ryan died by suicide just one week after his 14th birthday. In his final note, Ryan left his parents a request: “Tell my story.” Jason took those words to heart.

Truth & Reconciliation Day (9/30) (CA):

September 30th is Truth & Reconciliation Day in Canada, a day of memorial to recognize the atrocities and multi-generational effects of the Canadian Indian residential school system.

In recognition, we will be highlighting titles about First Nations and Indigenous experiences, including:

A documentary following five Anishinaabe youth on a summer research project with their Elders, whose stories guide them on a journey back to proceeding generations that lived a healthy lifestyle off the land.

Film of the Month:

Our film of the month for September is a documentary from our Suicide Prevention Month collection:
