Hi all,

It’s been a long time! The last newsletter that went out was just before we found out that the cloudLibrary app was being acquired by OCLC (and that the entire team would be coming along), and it’s been a bit of a whirlwind ever since - which, until now, meant no newsletter.

We’re ready to resume now, however, and I’d like to consider this month a bit of a soft launch. Going forward we’ll be centralizing a lot of this information into Community Center, so you’ll find the monthly entries as well as the associated shareable assets right here.

For now, here are the cloudLibrary Video themes for October, three of which will be running for the entire month:

Fall Travel:

If you’re like me and the milder autumn weather is more your speed, it’s finally time to get out of the house - which means highlighting some of our travel related content, leading off with:

TheJoyOfTouringSeason1_Poster.jpgThe Joy of Touring (US only)
In this 14 episode docuseries, viewers visit mythical places, explore history and take on new challenges while discovering some of the world's most beautiful destinations.

For those still who have already finished with their adventuring for the year, we’ve put together a collection of biographical documentaries, meant to challenge and inspire:

Illuminating Biographies:

i am big bird.jpgI Am Big Bird (US only)

The acclaimed documentary following Caroll Spinney, who played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch since 1969 - and whose time inside the Bird has taught him about the world and about himself. I Am Big Bird showcases the moments in Caroll's life that inspired his creation of characters that influenced generations of children.

And what would October be without a curated Halloween lineup? We’ve put together a mix of classic and modern horror, from slashers to the more psychological:

Halloween Horror:

Spearheading our collection this year is the feature film debut from director Dasha Nekrasova - The Scary of Sixty-First follows two Manhattan roommates as their lives are up-ended after finding out that their new apartment harbors a dark secret.

Indigenous Peoples Day (10/14):

While the other collections will remain highlighted all month, we will also have our showcase for Indigenous Peoples Day running for several days around October 14th, led by the film Conscience Point, which follows that Shinnecock Indian Nation in their fight to protect sacred burial grounds from being plowed over for mega-mansions.

You can expect to see each of these titles, and more, appear right here on the biblio+ homepage
