2025 will mark the first full year of CloudLibrary Video with OCLC, and we couldn’t be more excited about what the future holds! A fresh rotation of monthly video themes, a relaunch of our newly streamlined marketing initiatives, and of course this month's introduction of our content recommendations to Community Center - which, going forward, will serve as the main repository for all things video content.
Have a look at the titles leading off our January content themes below:
Foreign Film Showcase:
The beginning of the year is a big deal in the film world, because the festivals and markets kick off right away - starting with Sundance later in the month. So I like to dedicate plenty of shelf space to the film lovers among us, beginning with a showcase of foreign cinema.
Ida
The Academy Award winning Polish film Ida was named one of the best films of the 20th century soon after its release. Set in 1962, it follows a woman who is about to take her vows as a nun when she learns from her only relative that she is Jewish. Both women embark on a journey to discover their family story and where they belong.
Holiday Favorites:
Our Holiday Favorites shelf gets a New Year’s update in January, with a selection of films, documentaries, and even a fireworks display for our patron’s NYE parties.
Sparkling: The Story of Champagne
A love letter to the joys and pleasures of the traditional NYE beverage.
Lifelong Learning:
Similarly, for those of us working on our resolutions, the Lifelong Learning shelf rotates with fresh content for the New Year:
We Rise - How to Cope with Stress, Depression and Anxiety
For many people, the holiday season isn’t always the most cheerful time, so this documentary aims to educate and provide the tools needed to manage your mental health.
You can expect to see each of these titles, and more, appear right here on the biblio+ homepage
