As always when some big holidays are coming up, we keep an eye towards programming the collection for every situation – something for family get-togethers, background music in the kitchen, or cozy Christmas movie nights.
For December, our theme shelves are:
Holiday Cheer:
The perennial top holiday title, leading off our collection of Christmas ambiance, perfect for leaving on the TV while cooking, entertaining, or just because.
Holiday Romance:
Christmas With Felicity Hitting all the Christmas romance movie comfort spots - an ailing young baker, unenthusiastic about the holiday season, revisits her small hometown. Her joyous family and a charming farmer make concerted efforts to rekindle her Christmas cheer.
Based on Books:
Sense & Sensibility The beloved 2008 BBC miniseries adaptation - after Mr Dashwood's death, his wife and daughters are forced to leave their hone and start a new life in a modest house in County Devon. While there, Elinor, Marianne and Margaret hope to find husbands.
Faith & Spirituality:
The Miracle Show Father and son co-hosting duo Kevin and Gunnar Sizemore explore real stories, unexplained recoveries, impossible rescues, and benevolent forces. Viral videos and firsthand interviews document these amazing accounts.
Film of the Month:
Our film of the month for December is from the Holiday Cheer collection:
Jack Frost The Rankin & Bass classic from 1979, perfect for screening with kids and families – Jack Frost, a winter sprite, trades his immortality to become human and win the heart of a mortal woman.
