Hi all,

April brings an exciting update as we start seeing the results of our new curation efforts. While we expected our popular BBC titles to continue to perform, as well as a viewership lift on the homepage, we also noticed a new pattern - the complete outliers.

What I mean is that some titles are climbing the charts without any additional promotion, as if they were featured in this newsletter, on our social pages, or on the homepage shelves, even though they weren’t. These discoveries instead happen through search, organic social media discussions, or users exploring cloudLibrary Video content independently.

This trend highlights the strength of our platform's unlimited viewership. With no monthly view limits, we can support these "power users" without concern, and I'll continue to ensure that every title on the platform remains worth discovering.

As a fun side note, if anyone (the dabbling filmmakers among us, perhaps?) happens to be in southeastern Pennsylvania for the West Chester Film Festival (weekend of April 27th), I'll be giving a talk on the distribution process and how producers, directors, writers, etc, can be prepared to meet success. Feel free to reach out to me for more details!

Here are the cloudLibrary Video themes for April, two of which will be running for the entire month:

Arab American Heritage Month:

Leading off Arab American Heritage Month on cloudLibrary video / biblio+ is a documentary centered around hijab:

In North America, the way a Muslim woman dresses is her personal choice, but that choice, which includes whether or not to wear hijab to cover her hair, is often met with both approval and criticism. The film Between Allah & Me (and Everyone Else) explores the challenges of Farida, Shaila, Naima, and Sarah, four Muslim women making decisions about their personal dress codes.

We’ll also be running titles centered around Spring Travel for the month - because, I don’t know about you, but I’ve been getting stir-crazy inside lately.

Spring Travel:

Picture2.jpgIn this category we’ll have series from the BBC full of personality, food-centered travel, and tours through every US state. Leading the charge is:

Rick Steves’ Europe (US + CA)

Over several seasons we follow Rick Steves, author of the acclaimed travel guide “Europe Through the Back Door,” as he showcases the best of Europe, from Turkey to Portugal and everywhere in between.

Earth Day (4/22): Future Forward (US + CA)

Picture3.pngFor Earth Day, among other titles we’ll be showcasing the Future Forward series of short documentaries from The Climate Pledge, where Award-winning filmmakers spotlight trailblazing companies innovating paths to a cleaner planet.

You can expect to see each of these titles, and more, appear right here on the biblio+ homepage
