We’re containing multitudes this month: perseverance, accomplishment, and love.
As much of the US (including myself) digs out from the wide-ranging winter storm, our themes (alongside some representative titles we recommend) for February are:
Black History Month:
Jamaican civil rights activist Marcus Garvey fights for the equality of Black people worldwide.
Winter Olympics (2/6):
A compelling documentary that explores the rich history, triumphs, and challenges faced by the legendary Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society.
Valentine's Day Romance (2/14):
Following a painful separation, a heartbroken woman uses an experimental technology that allows her to revisit and manipulate her memories as a means to cope.
Film of the Month:
Our film of the month (meaning PPR rights are included) for February is from the Valentine’s Day Romance collection:
Edie literally runs into the love of her life, James, 5 days before she is to return home from London. They exchange contact information but things fall apart when James gets detained and they don’t reconnect before she leaves for home. They both go on with their lives, feeling that they let true love get away, until they are unexpectedly reunited 6 years later.
As always, you can expect to see each of these titles, and more, appear right here on the biblio+ homepage
