Session 1: Improving Discoverability of Archival Collections through the Creation of a New Branch
Our library houses our university's archives both in terms of its physical location and cataloged items. While this relationship has been beneficial to both parties it has also created confusion related to searching materials and differences in access policies. To help dispel some of this confusion, we decided to move the archives collection into a new branch within our WMS holdings. We will discuss the process we undertook including working with OCLC to create the branch, making the necessary adjustments within Service Configuration, and using the Record Manager Record Work Lists and Toolbox to move and update records. We will also discuss the outcomes and plans to implement this process with another collection in our library.

Session 2: Managing branches at Radford University
Radford University migrated to WMS in 2015, going live with five branches in 2016. Since then, we have eliminated one branch but added four. One was to handle the 2019 merger with the Jefferson College of Health Sciences (now Radford University Carilion). Others were added as departments across campus asked to use our system to circulate their materials. This brief discussion will explain how new branches and shelving locations are set up along with the challenges posed and the benefits obtained.
