From October 28th to November 13th, the bucolic Estación Mapocho, in the heart of Santiago nearby Mercado Central, becomes the center for literature with the 31st Santiago International Book Fair . The building used to be a train station that was built in early 1900s in commemoration of the hundredth anniversary of Chilean independence, and after the decrease of train usage it was renovated to serve as a convention and cultural center. The event will count with more than 200 national and international writers interacting with the visitors and a quite good list of publishers exhibiting there.
In the same site, Colegio de Bibliotecarios de Chile (Chilean Library Association) is holding the 16th International Conference in Librarianship on November 2-3 with the theme Good Practices Applied to the Unities of Information. Conferencia de Bibliotecología en Chile y la Feria del Libro de Santiago
De 28 de octubre al 13 de noviembre la bucólica Estación Mapocho, en el corazón de Santiago cerca del Mercado Central, se convierte en el centro para la literatura con la 31ª. Feria Internacional del Libro de Santiago. El edificio era una estación ferrocarril la cual fue construida en el inicio del Seculo 20 para celebrar el centenario de la independencia de Chile, y después de la diminución del uso de trenes, fue renovado para servir como centro cultural y de convenciones. El evento tendrá más de 200 escritores nacionales e internacionales interactuando con los visitantes y una buena lista de editoriales exhibiendo allá.
En el mismo sitio, el Colegio de Bibliotecarios de Chile estará presentando la XVI Conferencia Internacional de Bibliotecología en los días 2 y 3 de noviembre con el tema Buenas Prácticas Aplicadas a las Unidades de Información.
